Nesting like a lunatic!

Today has been remarkably productive and harmonious. First of all the kids played animal charades in our room, which was highly amusing – no idea how it started but it caused great hilarity :~)

Then the new furniture arrived and so i started to manically clear my room (i mean our room! lol!) out – 2 chests of drawers got hurled out and when i came down Max had rather impressively turned one of them into a cabinet for the tv and dvd player! I do like recycling! I cleaned for England, chucked stuff out, hoovered, sorted, cleaned windows (completely horrifying Maddy!) moved things to dust, added table covers to dodgy bedside drawers and generally behaved most uncharacteristically. My room now looks lovely and fully ready to bring a baby home to. Max built the canvas covered shelf thingy and the baskets fit it perfectly; it all looks very nice and its lovely to have stuff properly put away. Actually, its nice just to see the floor.

The girls spent lots of the day writing, colouring, playing in boxes, playing with playdough and money, talking about homelessness and generally having a good time. At one point i could hear a game going on where they were architects, building houses out of blocks (which Maddy measured) and using money as “cement” – it sounded a lot of fun! Fran wrote out lots of sentences from her head into a little notebook i got her yesterday and then read them to her teddies :~) She has come on so much.

I got to chat to my sister last night which was great. Weird to be doing mummy talk with her!

Finished off the day with a couple of Aesop’s, a story on The Halloween Changling from a Barefoot Book and more Amelia Jane. Maddy fell asleep again half way through. Amelie was up a mere 5 times last night – but at least her chest is sounding better.
