Bump and grind.

Is the phrase that springs to mind tonight – got that lovely late pregnancy backache – bleurgh. Still, its keeping me awake long enough to get some more reading done and i have now reached 48 books. I’m extremely proud of myself!

Today was okay although i was horribly ratty. Fran worked incredibly hard this morning and earned her last 8 20ps, times tables, some really nice writing, some reading, some addition, a wordsearch and sundry other bits. She was so focused and the result was a special trip into town so she could spend the £40 she has earned since late May. I can’t begrudge her it, she has achieved an enormous amount and has gone from being a non-reader/writer to an emergent one in just a few months. The maths is a bonus really, its not my ideal way of exploring a potentially fascinating (see how i changed!) subject but it seems to work in her case. Plus she has kept at it and that’s a big deal for her.

Anyway, she chose a Sylvannian Families Gypsy Caravan because the canal boat was out of stock and she couldn’t bear to wait. She has announced her intentions of carrying on to save up again. Its pretty much been played with solidly since we got home.

They also spent ages with salt dough, played Brio, were very good in town and had an okay day. Shame about the ratbag mummy really. I’ve got MP group tomorrow so i need to go and get that a bit more ready but i’ve done a fair bit of nesting today :~) Homebase had stopped selling the chest of drawers i wanted so i shall have to search further tomorrow. Hmmmmm….

Finished Mr Meddle tonight and they want to have more “by the same writer” so we are going to start on Naughty Amelia Jane, then i have a few more Ark Tales and some James Herriot and then i need a decent look in charity shops for more. i did manage a “The Works” haul today but only Pinocchio and The Jungle Book for them, the rest were Big Read books (£1.25 for War and Peace though, bargain!) There is loads in the house that i could read them but we are all really enjoying short stories about a single character so i think i will stick with that at bedtime for the foreseeable future.

And that is about it really.
