Well…

Today went okay, in a fairly simplistic way. Its, as you probably noticed, occurred to me it might be useful to make the home parts of the week seem attractive to Maddy, so we got back to Snowbabies today. They all had a lovely time and Fran had a lesson afterwards, in new skates, so she was much happier. (I love having first pick of the second hand market!) We had our new student with us, Zoe, so Ammi had a friend on the ice. I might take our littlest pair of proper skates for her next week as she really enjoyed double blades today and Zoe can go on and hold her up.

Once we got home the girls were whacked so they vegged with Toy Story for a bit while i filled Zoe in on them all. She wants to Home Ed (!) so we talked a bit about that and she told me about her life too. Interesting, i would say…. Still, she is nice, she has her head screwed on alright and the girls liked her. I just left them to it for what remained of the day and they all cooked cookies together for a bonding exercise.

I’ve been chuckling away today at Fran’s singing. Me and my mum are both reasonably tuneful ( i think anyway!) but Max is a bit on the tone deaf side at times, although not always. Moo and Ammi have beautiful voices, they pick up and hold tunes really well – in fact Moo was copying me singing all sorts of scales and arpeggios perfectly the other day, she got every single pitch right – but Fran is completely different. She can pipe along reasonably okay to nursery rhymes or whatever but she sometimes just warbles off into totally different keys, pitches or even tunes without apparently noticing at all!!!!!! She must have heard Jessies song 100 times but can she sing it? Nope. Moo and Ammi on the other hand have it note perfect. Aaaah well, can’t all do everything. Its not like i can do a perfect headstand….
