Good news for me anyway.
Midwife has just been and babe is doing well; its nicely in place with its back down the left and although it hasn’t started to engage, its head isn’t loose and floating either, it seems to be fairly firmly tucked in. Also, having been solidly 4 weeks ahead in bump growth all the way through, i am now only 3 weeks ahead, which does sort of suggest that its getting itself into place a bit more. Its certainly a hugely different feeling to Amelie was, so i am feeling a lot more positive. Its helped loads to have a midwife who is saying “lets assume its all going to go smoothly and you’ll be home after two hours” – i know i could be rocking the boat more but tbh, what is the point? I’m going to have to do what feels right at the time and i might as well only start to p*ss people off once i am there and doing it! I’m pretty sure that its not going to be at home now; even if Max was remotely keen, i wouldn’t fancy a last minute homebirth with only a paramedic and thats what it would come down too. there is too much at stake.
There is a lot to be said for having a stress free final few weeks anyway, so lets hope it all stays as it should.
