EDIT: here is an interesting thing. I asked my mum whether she considered herself to be a feminist and how she felt about the term “girl” when used to self refer to herself and her peers. This was her reply (by text! lol!)

“Not feminist….. honorary chap in fact but also eternal girl….. No time for woman or lady….. No positive or negative distinctions but i always vote in deference to suffragettes…. No logic either obviously!”

So clearly i am exactly the same as my mum, including the overuse of dot dot dot (and the lack of logic?)!!!!!! Scary.
