Different days.
Today Fran and i took a trip up to see my sister in Lincoln, which does of course mean travelling the deeply scary A15. I’m not quite sure why people feel the need to drive like loons on a roads littered with signs saying “RED ROUTE” and “15 fatalities in 1 year” I’m sure; i must have had to brake hardish for people on the wrong side of the road at least 6 times. Still. Call me old fashioned but i like to end a journey as i started it, alive and unmashed.
We had a really pleasant day. She is very excited and has a beautiful nursery done and a heap of gender appropriate clothes. Made me feel i should do something nice for this baby really, rather than just assuming at least some of the clothes i have will suit and that i have enough blankets, nappies and a space in my bed for it.
Her dp and i spent the day planning an art idea we have for MP – i’m really excited about it and he seems keen so i am really hoping that in the next month or so we might get something going online. Fran had a lovely time with my sister doing beads and drawing and general playing. It was nice to get a little bit of time just with her too; since nursery ended i have missed that lovely time we used to have together each day, although i hadn’t really noticed i had missed it till i got it again, iyswim.
While we were out Max took the other two out to Pboro’s outdoor pools which we have never been too. Really i should stop moaning about how little there is to do around here and use what there is :~D They had a great time and had Burger Kings and bus rides to go with it.
By the time we got home i was so hot i had to just sprawl on the bed. I half expected a load of enthusiastic eco-warriors to come in, roll me in wet blankets, tag me and then push me back out to sea. I REALLY should have thought this through….
Just read The Lady of Ten Thousand Names to the girls, and Egyptian story about Isis, Osiris and Horus. Very sad. (Didn’t bawl!) Was just about to tell Moo to hush cos she was twittering during the story (something i have noticed her doing a lot lately) when i suddenly realized she was doing 8+2 is 10 etc on her fingers and thumbs… fortunately managed to avoid telling her to shut up so i could educate her… :~D
Edit: Oh yeah – this is cute. Ammi has been wearing some of the size 2 cloth nappies that Layla loaned to me. She keeps patting her bottom and saying “Lulah nappy!” Lor’ how she loves that family! lol!!!
