Babe is good :~)

Well… he s/he is…

and here is one of s/he picking a very Ammi shaped nose!

The scan was great – its sucking its thumb, very very wriggly and definitely has an Ammi profile (so a bit of a combination of all three girls then really!) The sonographer got a really good look at its face and it definitely has a whole top lip, 4 arms and legs, penty of fingers and toes and a 4 chamber heart – she did a special type of scan on its heart to reassure us since its been very difficult to hear and it showed up to be working well. I did get a very full on look at its erm.. bits and bobs and i couldn’tr see anything to suggest a boy at all, the geography seemed much more girl, but then i’m not honestly sure i would know what to look for in terms of scan pics anyway so who knows. Much like the girls, its got normal leg length, a biggish head and a slim tummy.

My placenta it right at the top which must account for some of my high fundus size i guess (at least, maybe it will stop them whittling about it) and i’m hoping that a placenta at the top will be a good thing in terms of the position of the baby and (and i dunno if this is true but i am supposing) that a cord hanging from the top might be less likely to prolapse?

The only thing that has annoyed me is that in the back of my notes i now have a letter from the registrar i discussed my birthplans with. I spent a considerable length of time explaining that i had no plans for an elective section unless things were looking really bad by 39 weeks. She has written “high risk factors for birth include *2 previous sections (well ok) *a child with autism (WHY does this mean i am a high risk birther?) and *cord prolapse and scan dehiscence. Which is annoying enough because it was a presenting cord but never prolapsed because *I* took their advice and had a section and my scar only had a small split in the outer layer which we decided had probably in fact been there throughout Moo’s birth.

But the REALLY annoying thing is below this she has completely disregarded our conversation and put “will be reviewed at 36 weeks to finalise plans for her caesarean section.”

Well i’m bloody well not having one then.
