Very pleasant day

We have been invaded by The Portico! Which is nice :~) They arrived and surprised Fran who didn’t know they were coming and we spent the afternoon being very hot and playing. After i got Moo we all went and playerd in the local park which has a big paddling pool and sandpit area – bliss to still very tired feet! Just about filed them all now although the excitement continued pretty much up till the moment beds were called for! Its lovely to be able to have people to stay again. Obviously it would be even better if Chris were here too ;~)

Only other thing was that i went into nursery to have a bit of a moan about something that happened yesterday. When i got Moo she was sat very uptight and tearful infront of the “supply” room head they have this term, who had the “Dave the Duck” bag on her lap. (Dave being one of these travelling animals who take it in turns to go home with children and who Moo has not yet hosted.) Moo desperately wanted him and was (being the last left) clearly in a state of anxiety/panic/hope that they would let her. But as i arrived and she gave them a hopeful look, the two staff said, and it had clearly been an ongoing thing “No Maddy its not your turn” etc etc – i really felt she had been taunted with it – there was just no reason the staff member, who was sat facing Moo and “facing her out” as it were, couldn’t have got up and put him away to make it clear. It just seemed like some sort of power trip was going on, nevermind a considerable lack of understanding of her state. She cried for ages after i took her out. So today i found a friendly staff member and had a bit of a moan – i’ve had a few bad vibes about this particular teacher and this really didn’t help.

grrr… bah humbug.
