Vrrooooom……

Had a two day visit to Silverstone. TBH, it was a bit much for me and the girls and being a bigger meeting we had to park further away and walk about an awful lot so it felt like a bit of an effort. But it was Max’s birthday treat and he works very hard so i really don’t begrudge him it :~) The weather was nice anyway and we spent time with Max’s dad and step mother so that was good.

Managed to do various educational (of a sort) things too – the girls adored the traditional Punch and Judy shows (now how come Gollywogs go but all that domestic violence is okay????) and so we have decided to do a bit of theme work on that this week. I laso want to find out more about Clowns as that was a theme of Pip so we might work that an history of circus in too if we can.

Fran read some books and really impressed me last night by sitting with Ammi watching a dvd talking to her is a gorgeous way “yes that is a dog, yes thats right a hat” type thing – really gentle and encouraging. Very sweet. max is a bit worried that Ammi is showing Maddy tendencies – but although i know what he means she isn’t the same, she talks, she is sociable and she has a great imagination – i think maybe she is just a tad obsessive about certain things but it may be “learned” from Moo for all i know.

On the health side, Ammi got really irritated by cat fur at Grandads and woke up this morning coughing and wheezing uncontrollably. It was a bit scary (now is it me or has this never actually happened BEFORE she had Ventolin… hmmmm….) Then, Fran and i were sat at the table having a huge conversation about St Johns which she can join next year and the various occasions i have used the first aid i learned as a child. We spent AGES talking about diabetes and sugar levels and then when i stood up i suddenly had my first ever attack of morning sickness – there was no air, i was faint and sick and felt dreadful – and only eating (the very last thing i wanted to do but which Max sensible insisted on) fixed it. Very odd.

Girls also had long conversations about lift and drag and fuel mixtures this weekend – that has to have been useful!!!! Ammi adores helicopters and aeroplanes and spent a blissful weekend watching them all! (“Bri-bri…cray” and “heri-cop-cop”!)
