Grrrrr and double grrrrrr……
Our local LEA just gets better – here is a snippet from their NEW “Guidence for HEers” Leaflet
(1) Visits every six months and then annually but
if your child is educated by a tutor at home then bi-annual visits
(2) You must inform the LEA that you are going to home educate!
(3) The list of options is still there but they state that the preferred
option is a visit
(4) However further on it states:
constant refusal to allow home visits may result in the LEA making the
judgement that your child/ren should be returned to mainstream schooling as
we have a legal responsibility to ensure the education, area in which the
education takes place and equipment available is appropriate. This can only
be confirmed by home visiting.
(5) “Initially some children see receiving education at home as a game in
which
they can choose what they do and when. This can be frustrating for parents
as it is also new to them and they are now in a different role.”
So… any thoughts?????? *screws face into threatening warpath type grimace.*
