ooops – too sleepy to blog yesterday.

I’m finding blogging a bit harder at the moment as there is nothing quite so obvious going on as there has been. There is in fact A LOT gonig on, but its hard to make workbooks and reading practise sound exciting. Fran is really working at the basics and all her number, letter, reading, writing work is improving in leaps. But apart from that i feel she has hit one of her “periods of reflection” and however hard it is, i know she NEEDS those times and that big leaps happen during them.

Yesterday she and i curled up watching the “Making Nemo” documentary on the dvd and all of them have been using the “Exploring the Reef” and interactive bits a lot, often asking for them rather than the film. I have that unit study on Nemo we could do at some point. She spent most of our quiet time learning to play “Zeus” a city building game. I have 3 of these by the same people now, Caesar 3 (Rome) Pharoah (Egypt) and now Zeus (Greece) – I really recommend them. They have strategy, economy, history, business, IT, mythology, geography – the list of skills is endless. The interface is very friendly and although i was not expecting her to manage it, she really did quite well and could build, feed, and keep healthy a small colony on her own.

We also read P&J2a fairly easily and the big news of the day is Moo got most of the way through P&J1a!!! Weyhey for Moo! I wish i could find that “Flying Boot” series Sarah has but it doesn’t seem to be anywhere. It looked lovely. We are nearly at the end of Alice, i think it is boring them a little now but i want to get to the end for my own sanity! lol! Its completely mad! Still, we disposed of the mock turtle now and are on to the trial. I got the game of it for the PC with my voucher – but it says 7-12 – is it really that hard does anyone know?

This week is madness – it feels like we have been out constantly lately. Its art club today, HE skating tomorrow and then i have to go meet Moo’s not very helpful EP, and then skating again on Friday. Oh for a quiet life!!!
