You know when you have days when you should have stayed in bed? Today was definitely one of them. Aside from the highly irritating letter, everything else seemed to be highly stressful too.
Firstly we got to skating to discover they have imposed a £1 surcharge if you use a card, with immediate effect, and that was all i had to pay with. I ranted to no effect. Then i discover the session costs an extra 75p in school holidays – which seems like blatant discrimination to me. So that annoyed me – then having paid the £5.20 so they could have their lessons Moo then threw a wobbly and refused to skate and went into full face off/ stand off mode. At which point i ripped off her skates, smacked her and sat her on her own where i didn’t have to look at her.
So that went well :~(
Then we had to hot foot it to drop her at nursery so the rest of us could go to the hospital. I felt really mean as it meant her being there for lunch too (although still better than a long waiting room i guess) and the other kids there had been really “dumped” all week – i felt a right meanie and i missed her too – 3 1/2 hours seems so much more than 2 1/2.
Got to the hospital and only had to wait for 1/2 an hour for a change (lol!) but it wasn’t her normal surgeon and Fran had really looked forward to seeing him so she clammed up and went shy. Eventually persuaded her into the chair for a look in her mouth and the news was all good. her teeth are great, the funny one is extra to her others so none are missing, her bite is good and things are shaping up nicely. Nothing is wobbly so it looks like they might not even start the pre-op dental work till she is 9 and do the bone graft at 10. And she is signed off till she is 8 1/2 – hurrah!!!!
Anyway, popped to Tesco and got Fran’s watch (the one MP bought her) fixed – or rather a new battery and she is delighted with it and really trying to learn to tell the time. All had dinner together and then got Moo, came home and discovered i had missed my bead delivery… and gave up!
Actually, upsides to the day were that Fran packed the skating and a changing bag for me perfectly and skated beautifully too. I have also taught her to know mine and Max’s full name, where he works, where his number is, how to call for an ambulance and her address. All quite impressive stuff i reckon.
AND Scruff is poorly – eczema is all up and she is snotty, wheezy and generally miserable :~(
i shall finish with some photos – moan over!
Guess who????? (Scary!)

Moo made a whole heart
Roman bowls Fran on the left, Moo on the right.
Finally, Fran starts putting pen to paper – and has come on in leaps since this.
