Everything and Nothing
Well, the last two days have been very much revolving around the “basics” – i think Fran was slightly startled on camp to realize that her two mates Abbie and Tilda can do a fair bit of reading and writing, and she has decidded to give it a go. Today i heard “I’m reading, I’m reading!!!” and when i went in she read a whole, simple, ladybird tom and kate book to me!
Result!
Oddly she has also done workbooks again the last two days – Letts ones aimed at 5-6 year olds – her writing has really come on which is lovely and she has much more confidence in forming letters. She doesn’t write independantly yet but copies and can add letters into puzzles. She seemed to enjoy the maths one but turned her nose up at the “sums” pages.. funny child.
What else – we made foam daffoldils, model magic vases, played lots of Reader Rabbit and Caesar 3, used the Webland thing a lot – it has an archived Romans section), read more books… um…
Having a bit of a fight with our local EWO who seems to think she is entitled to insist on a home visit despite having had a comprehensive report.
Something very nice was said yesterday – I know Max backs me in this but he has taken his time to get confident – when we started it was on a “till they are 7” proviso, which i agreed to in a “yes dear” sort of fashion – but the other day he said “I’m really impressed with how its going, i can’t see them ever gonig to school now.”
He got a kiss ;~)
