And finally… today!
Romans hit the big time today. Peterborough is a Roman town of old – i think it might have been called Guildenburgh – anyway our local museum (Peterborough and heritage – not two words you often hear together!!!) has some roman days coming up which sound fun.
First the girls, with Moo “driving” went through the Roman phase of the DK History Explorer game and loved it (later Fran did Ancient Egypt, Greece, Roman and Imperial China and was very into it.)
Then we made mosaic plates with some deep pasta bowls and Opitec mosaic tiles i had lolling about – both of them did lovely ones which i will photo tomorrow. While Fran finished hers i printed off and read her the story of Romulus and Remus which went down well.
Finished off looking at her (slightly scary) book on Expressionist artists (angst ridden lot!) and then at our Usborne History of Art book and tried to spot pictures the artist menat to look “real” or as an “idea of” (impression of).
I’m pooped.
Comment you scurvy seadogs or i will never blog again! ;~)
