Whats the Nile/bullrushes/Egypt/put to death/pharoah…..?

Grin… we “did” Moses today! Pud was feeling pretty poorly and i wasn’t much better so while it was quiet here we curled up on the sofa, read all about Moses in the bullrushes and then did the sticker book on the same subject we got the other week. It was good to do the story from 2 sources, one had the names of characters, one used Israelites, the other Hebrews, they had very different emphasis on the cultures etc, so it provided a good opportunity for talk. We talked about weaving and tar for waterproofing, culture clashes, making bricks with straw and mud, how killing baby boys would cripple a culture/tribe etc etc. I really recommend these sticker books – get down to Sainsburys!!!!!! We use an Usborne mini bible that has nice pics and the stories have just enough detail to keep Pud interested without being too complex.

We also read a flip flap book on the Christmas story and discussed shepherds, kings, stars and flat roofed houses!

Aside from that Moo suddenly went mad for the stickers in the Winnie the Pooh nature trails mag, so i dug out all the back issues, only to find she had stuck every sticker in the series on to one page!!!! So we unpicked them all and she did the lot! Rofl! The WHOLE series!!!!

Over the weekend we had firework with Auntie Kate and co… but not a lot else happened really!
