I didn’t take a single photo at Melrose this year. However, in a mutually beneficial arrangement (in all other senses other than the fact their camera died) the FamilyFrench took over ownership of my camera for the week and the result is bountiful and beautiful photos of the week.
I’ll do a proper update of the week later but despite the eventual tummy bug (which has just spectacularly struck the third of my family 🙁 ) we did have a lovely week. Certainly for my children, it was the best ever and i had lots of really enjoyable times too. i certainly missed some absent friends but enjoyed other peoples company very much. One of the best things for me was the sense of how my family are changing; each year has been very different in terms of their needs and how hard work it is for me. This year Josie was the only one to require constant supervision and even then was quite mild and able to potter. She was too little to understand that she needed to stay out of the kitchen if i was in it, but by next year i guess she’ll be off playing and i’ll be free to do the endless cooking and washing up. This year the pan lids and graters were something of a magnetic attraction! 🙄
Anyway, enjoy the photos 🙂 I think there is one last bunch on my camera, when i find it; thank you Helen (and Chris) for your happy snapping. I’ll make sure i bring a cd of them over shortly 🙂
